With the support of a National Endowment for the Arts Our Town grant, the City of Norfolk, Virginia will commission an artist to create art that will be a catalyst for embracing creative solutions for adapting to sea level rise.
Artists are encouraged to philosophically investigate meaningful and beautifully designed interventions to sustain livability, preserve the environment and further develop the economic vitality of Norfolk’s shoreline community.
The artwork should foster dialog, point towards solutions, be hopeful, provocative, revealing and tell a story of the water.
The deadline for submission is 2PM EST, April 1, 2016.
